IQ Quartz worktops are covered by a 15 year manufacturer warranty from International Stones (UK) Ltd for qualifying slab material defects, subject to their official terms and conditions. This page explains how Finch’s Stone & Marble Ltd customers can register their IQ Quartz warranty, what may be covered, and which issues are normally excluded.

To validate the warranty, customers must register their IQ Quartz worktop within 60 days of purchase. The warranty applies to internal residential work surfaces only and covers the slab material itself, not fabrication, fitting, removal, refitting, plumbing, electrical work or other associated costs.

15 Year Warranty

IQ Quartz worktops are covered by a 15 year manufacturer warranty from International Stones (UK) Ltd, subject to their terms and conditions.

Registration Required

The warranty must be registered within 60 days of purchase. Please keep your Finch’s Stone & Marble Ltd invoice as proof of purchase.

Internal Residential Use

The warranty applies to IQ Quartz materials installed internally as work surfaces in a private residential property.

Material Warranty Only

The warranty is limited to the IQ Quartz slab material itself and does not normally cover associated labour or refitting costs.

Important Warranty Note

IQ Quartz is a durable quartz worktop material, but it is not indestructible. The manufacturer warranty is mainly intended to cover qualifying manufacturing defects in the slab material. Damage caused by heat, impact, excessive force, poor care, incorrect use, installation issues or movement in the supporting units is not usually treated as a material defect.

You will need your original Finch’s Stone & Marble Ltd invoice or sales receipt, as this acts as proof of purchase for your IQ Quartz worktops.

What May Be Covered

Potentially Covered by IQ Quartz

Qualifying manufacturing defects affecting the IQ Quartz slab material.
Defective product repair, where International Stones decides repair is appropriate.
Replacement material, where the claim is accepted under the warranty terms.
A material refund or similar material alternative if the original colour has been discontinued.
Issues reported within the 15 year warranty period, provided the warranty has been registered correctly.

Customer Requirements

The warranty must be registered within 60 days of purchase.
The original invoice or sales receipt must be retained.
The surface must be maintained in line with the manufacturer’s recommended guidance.
International Stones must be given reasonable access to inspect the material if a claim is made.
The warranty is for the first user of the material and is not transferable.

What Is Not Covered

Use, Care & Damage Exclusions

General wear and tear.
Damage caused by improper use or poor maintenance.
Damage from excessive heat or thermal shock, including placing hot pans or hot objects directly on the surface.
Damage from excessive ultraviolet light.
Damage from excessive force, impact, standing, sitting or leaning on the worktop.
Damage from abrasive or corrosive substances.
Chips, scratches or cracks caused by wear and tear, negligence or external force.
Cracks caused by movement or shifting of the units or supports beneath the material.
Cracks that start from sink, hob or other cut-out areas, unless accepted by the manufacturer as a material defect.

Installation & Location Exclusions

Installation, fitting or accessories used with the material.
The performance or appearance of joints.
Milling, grooves, drainage channels or fabrication details.
Laminations, adhesives, caulking or mechanical fixings.
Improper installation by someone not professionally qualified.
Use as flooring or wall cladding.
Commercial use.
Outdoor installations or exposure to the elements.
Use around swimming pools, spas or chlorinated water.
Use adjacent to fireplaces.
Materials that have not been paid for in full.

Colour, Pattern & Slab Variation

IQ Quartz slabs are manufactured using natural materials, so each slab can vary in colour, tone, pattern and quartz distribution. Samples, showroom displays and website images should be used as a guide only. The final installed worktops may also look different depending on lighting, room position and viewing angle.

Thickness Tolerance & Bowing

IQ Quartz slabs are manufactured to normal production tolerances. The IQ warranty document refers to a thickness tolerance of +/- 1.5mm and bowing of not more than 2mm over the length or width of the product when properly installed and supported. These tolerances are normal manufacturing allowances and are not automatically classed as faults.

Recommended Care & Maintenance

Everyday Care

Clean spills as soon as possible.
Wipe regularly with clean water and a soft cloth.
Use suitable quartz-safe cleaners where required.
Lightly polish dry with a soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel after cleaning.
Always test any cleaning product on a small hidden area first.

What to Avoid

Do not place hot pans, trays, irons or heated appliances directly on the surface.
Do not stand, sit or lean heavily on the worktops, especially near cut-outs.
Do not use harsh abrasives, scouring pads or corrosive chemicals.
Do not expose the material to strong UV light or outdoor conditions.
Do not use the worktop as a chopping board.

Information Usually Required

Your original invoice or sales receipt.
Confirmation that the IQ Quartz warranty was registered within 60 days.
Clear photographs of the issue.
Details of the colour, thickness and installation date.
Information about cleaning products, heat exposure, use and any recent movement or changes to the kitchen units.

Do I need to register my IQ Quartz warranty?

Yes. The IQ Quartz warranty must be registered within 60 days of purchase. Customers can complete the warranty registration form on this page after their IQ Quartz worktops have been installed.

Does the IQ Quartz warranty cover installation costs?

No. The warranty is limited to the IQ Quartz material. It does not normally cover costs relating to installation, fitting, joining, milling, removal, refitting, plumbing, electrical work or transport of replacement material to the customer’s home.

Are chips, scratches and cracks covered?

Chips, scratches and cracks caused by wear and tear, external force, negligence, thermal shock, excessive weight, movement in supports or cracks from cut-outs are not normally covered unless the manufacturer accepts that the issue was caused by a defect in the product.

Can IQ Quartz be used outside?

The IQ Quartz warranty applies to internal work surfaces in private residences. Outdoor installations, excessive UV exposure, commercial use, flooring, wall use, pool or spa areas and fireplace-adjacent use are excluded from the warranty.

Will my IQ Quartz worktop look exactly like the sample?

Not always. Quartz slabs can vary in colour, tone, pattern and quartz distribution. Lighting, viewing angle and slab placement can also affect the final appearance.
