Rinse and dry after cleaning
Use trivets for hot pans
Avoid harsh chemicals
Everyday Cleaning for IQ Quartz Worktops
For daily cleaning, wipe your IQ Quartz worktops with clean water and a soft cloth. A mild pH-neutral cleaner can also be used when needed, especially after cooking or food preparation.
After cleaning, remove excess water and dry the surface with a clean cloth. This helps reduce water marks, streaks and general build-up over time.
- Wipe the surface with clean water and a soft cloth.
- Use a mild pH-neutral cleaner for general kitchen cleaning.
- Clean spills promptly, especially strongly coloured food and drink.
- Rinse away any cleaner residue with clean water.
- Dry the worktop with a clean cloth to help prevent water marks.
Quick IQ Quartz Care Guide
Daily Cleaning
Use clean water, a soft cloth and a mild pH-neutral cleaner when required. Avoid leaving residues from soaps, sprays or unsuitable cleaning products.
Spills & Stains
IQ Quartz is stain-resistant, but not stain-proof. Tea, wine, coffee, curry, turmeric and fruit juices should be wiped away quickly.
Heat Protection
Always use a heat mat or trivet. Do not place hot pans, oven trays, air fryer baskets or heated appliances directly onto the quartz.
Important: Stain-Resistant Does Not Mean Stain-Proof
IQ Quartz is a low-porosity engineered quartz surface, but no kitchen worktop should be treated as completely stain-proof. Strongly coloured spills should be cleaned promptly, especially on white, cream and pale grey quartz colours.
Removing Marks and Common Kitchen Spills
Most everyday spills can be removed with warm water and a soft cloth. For more stubborn marks, clean the area gently rather than scrubbing aggressively.
Light Marks
Use a pH-neutral cleaner and a non-scratch sponge. Work gently over the marked area, rinse with clean water and dry the surface afterwards.
More Stubborn Stains
A quartz-safe cleaner may be needed for more difficult marks. Always test a new cleaning product on a small hidden area first before using it across the visible worktop.
Tea, Coffee, Wine, Curry and Turmeric
These can be harder to remove if left to dry on the surface. Clean them as soon as possible, particularly on lighter IQ Quartz colours.
What to Do and What to Avoid
Do
- Use clean water and a soft cloth for everyday cleaning.
- Use pH-neutral cleaning products where possible.
- Wipe up spills quickly.
- Use chopping boards when preparing food.
- Use heat mats, trivets and pan stands.
- Dry the surface after cleaning.
Don’t
- Do not use acid-based cleaners.
- Do not use harsh abrasive powders or scouring pads.
- Do not place hot pans directly onto the quartz.
- Do not cut directly on the worktop.
- Do not drag pans, trays or heavy items across the surface.
- Do not leave strong chemicals sitting on the worktop.
Heat, Scratches and Everyday Use
IQ Quartz is a hard-wearing worktop material, but it should still be protected from avoidable damage. Use chopping boards, trivets and heat mats as part of normal kitchen care.
Heat Protection
Do not place hot pans, oven trays, heated appliances, air fryer baskets or slow cookers directly onto the quartz. Sudden or prolonged heat can damage quartz surfaces.
Scratch Protection
Do not cut directly on the worktop. Although quartz is very durable, knives, tools, pans and rough items can still mark or damage the surface.
Does IQ Quartz Need Sealing?
IQ Quartz is an engineered composite quartz material and does not normally need sealing in the same way as many natural stones. The best protection is regular cleaning, prompt spill removal and avoiding unsuitable cleaning chemicals.
Natural stones such as granite, marble and quartzite can have different care requirements, so this guide should only be used for IQ Quartz worktops.
Care Advice After Installation
Once your IQ Quartz worktops have been fitted, allow joints, silicone and surrounding areas to settle as advised by your fitter. Avoid heavy cleaning around fresh silicone on the day of installation unless instructed otherwise.
- Check the worktops after fitting and ask any care questions before the fitters leave.
- Use chopping boards and heat mats from day one.
- Keep strongly coloured spills away from the surface wherever possible.
- Do not use harsh cleaners to try to remove marks.

IQ Quartz Care & Cleaning FAQs
What is the best way to clean IQ Quartz worktops?
For normal daily cleaning, use clean water, a soft cloth and, when needed, a mild pH-neutral cleaner. Dry the surface afterwards to reduce water marks and streaks.
Can I use bleach on IQ Quartz?
Avoid using neat bleach or strong chemical cleaners. If a cleaning product is being used for a difficult mark, test it first on a small hidden area and rinse the surface thoroughly afterwards.
Does IQ Quartz stain?
IQ Quartz is stain-resistant, but it is not completely stain-proof. Tea, red wine, turmeric, curry, coffee and pollen can mark the surface if left sitting, especially on lighter colours.
Can I put hot pans on IQ Quartz?
No. Always use a heat mat or trivet. Direct heat from pans, trays, air fryers and other hot items can damage quartz worktops.
Do IQ Quartz worktops need sealing?
IQ Quartz is an engineered composite quartz surface and does not normally need sealing. Regular cleaning and correct day-to-day use are the most important parts of care.
Can I cut directly on IQ Quartz?
No. Always use a chopping board. Cutting directly on the worktop can damage the surface and will also blunt knives.
