Important: BQS Is Covered as a Slab Material Warranty

The BQS warranty is there to cover qualifying defects in the quartz slab material supplied by Brachot. It does not automatically cover the cost of removing, remaking, fabricating or reinstalling a finished worktop, and it does not cover associated trades or other consequential costs.

What May Be Covered by the BQS Warranty?

The BQS quartz warranty is intended to protect against qualifying faults in the slab material, provided the surface has been used indoors, maintained correctly and the full warranty terms have been followed.

If a valid material claim is accepted, the usual remedy is linked to the slab material itself. Where the exact original colour, batch or finish is no longer available, the supplier may offer the closest suitable alternative available at the time.

  1. The issue must relate to the BQS quartz slab material itself.
  2. The worktop must have been used for its intended indoor purpose.
  3. The surface must have been cleaned and maintained in line with the care advice.
  4. The product must have been paid for in full and proof of purchase must be available.
  5. Photographs, invoice details and information about the issue may be required before assessment.

What Is Not Covered?

Usually Required

  • Keep your Finch’s invoice safe
  • Use the surface for normal internal worktop use
  • Clean spills promptly and follow the care guidance
  • Use trivets, heat mats or pan stands under hot items
  • Avoid harsh or unsuitable cleaning products
  • Report possible material concerns as soon as practical
  • Provide clear photographs and supporting information

Normally Excluded

  • Damage from misuse, impact or poor maintenance
  • Hot pan marks, flame damage or thermal shock
  • Bleach, acid, solvent or high-pH chemical damage
  • Scratches, chips, staining or marks caused after installation
  • Third-party alterations, repairs or surrounding building work
  • Fabrication, removal, refitting or installation costs
  • Plumbing, appliance, electrical or tiling costs
  • Colour, pattern or batch variation from samples or photographs
  • Outdoor weather exposure or UV-related damage

Samples, Colour and Pattern Variation

BQS quartz worktops are chosen from small samples, photographs or gallery images, but the finished slab may not look exactly the same. Quartz colours can vary in tone, pattern, mirror fleck, veining, movement and mineral concentration, especially across different batches and larger worktop areas.

This type of variation is normally part of the material’s appearance and is not usually treated as a warranty fault. Samples and website images should be used as a helpful guide, not as an exact promise of how every slab or installed worktop will look.

Heat, Chemicals and Everyday Use

BQS quartz is a durable surface for kitchens, utilities and other internal worktop areas, but it is not heat-proof, scratch-proof, stain-proof or indestructible. Direct heat, thermal shock, abrasive cleaning, strong chemicals and incorrect use can damage the material and are not normally covered by warranty.

Always use chopping boards, trivets and heat protection. Avoid placing hot pans, oven trays, air fryers, slow cookers or other heat-producing appliances directly onto the quartz. Wipe up spills quickly and avoid bleach, oven cleaner, drain cleaner, strong solvents, abrasive pads, wire wool and harsh scouring powders.

Making a BQS Warranty Claim

If you think your BQS quartz worktop may have a slab material issue, gather the key information before making an enquiry. This helps Finch’s and Brachot understand the concern and decide whether it needs supplier assessment.

  1. Find your Finch’s Stone & Marble Ltd invoice or proof of purchase.
  2. Take clear photographs of the full worktop and close-up images of the area of concern.
  3. Make a note of when the issue first appeared and how the surface has been cleaned and used.
  4. Contact Finch’s if we supplied the worktop, or contact Brachot UK for supplier warranty information.
  5. Do not polish, repair, treat or alter the surface before the issue has been reviewed, as this may affect the warranty position.
