The majority of worktops we install are in 30mm thickness. 20mm is becoming more popular with the sleek and modern designs of handleless kitchens. There is a cost saving with 20mm but in some cases with the lower tier colour groups , the difference is minimal. While 20mm thickness is substantial and strong enough to have as an overhang for a breakfast bar, 30mm is structurally better as it would be stronger. All colours from all of our suppliers are available in slab format at 20mm or 30mm

There are several different surfaces finishes available for your new worktops. Polished is the most popular but textured finishes are seeing an upward trend. Some quartz manufacturers have most colours in a polished surface only, with only a few specific colours that are available in a textured finish. Other manufacturers such as Silestone and Unistone, have the full range of their colours available in both a polished and a textured, matt look. Our showroom displays and samples are both textured and polished finishes, makings it easier for you to make your choice.
Corners for your worktops as standard are square cut with a flat bevel to take off the sharp corner. You can also opt for a slightly rounded corner (AKA penny round) at the template stage , if you notify the fitter (no extra cost)
Larger corners can be fabricated to suite posts & pillars or very large curved shaped cabinet doors. We have modern cutting equipment with a CNC saw and profiling CNC so any shape is usually possible.
Many customers will need that extra something to make the kitchen really shine. We have produced many different shaped island units and worktops to compliment the kitchen unit shape or to our customers own specification.
With our Intermac CNC pattern cutting machinery and GMM CNC bridge saw, we are able to cut any shapes & patterns to complete your dream kitchen.
While not as popular as undermounted, inset sinks are still a very practical addition to any kitchen. An inset sink is far more practical in a utility room due to usually having their own draining board, making them ideal for harder working areas. Often if a customer has no dishwasher and would be washing up by hand, an inset sink is actually the better choice. While there are options for etched grooves & full recessed draining boards in quartz, the practicality of an inset sink cannot be ignored.
Polished sink cut outs, for undermounted sinks are the most popular style to use with Granite or quartz worktops. There are many different shapes & sizes for single, one & half or twin large sinks. Several choices of material types are available including stainless steel, ceramic and resin/ granite mix . Silestone now also produce Quartz sinks to perfectly match your silestone quartz worktops. We have all these options on display at our showroom in Appley bridge, Wigan.
